Lindsey Hoyer (MPA ’22) and Josh Costo (MPA ’22) were recently appointed as postgraduate technical assistants in the prestigious program sponsored by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Congrations, Lindsey and Josh!

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a global nonprofit that connects educators, students, and businesses to create the next generation of great leaders, honored Department Chair Michael Clement as a 2022 AACSB Influential Leader. 27 people received this year's award, and we are honored to announce that Michael was chosen as one of the 27 recipients! Congratulations!

Congratulations to first-year doctoral student Mary Adenle who won an AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students for the 2021-2022 academic year.

On September 1, 2021, the Master in Professional Accounting program welcomed its new Program Director, Senior Lecturer and Assistant Department Chair Kristina Zvinakis. She has been at McCombs for 15 years and is also the Department's Assistant Chair and teaches Tax Research and Corporate Tax. The Department would like to give a huge thank you to Steve Smith for his leadership of the MPA program.

The AICPA recently named the 89 recipients of the 2020 Elijah Watt Sells Award, and Texas McCombs is proud to announce that the MPA program has three winners: Brenton Novit (now employed at Deloitte in Austin, TX), Diana Luong (now employed at EY in Houston, TX), and Sarabeth Sandweiss (now employed at EY in Houston, TX). Congratulations to Brenton, Diana, and Sarabeth. What an accomplishment!

Lillian Mills has been named the next permanent dean of the McCombs School of Business. She has served in this role as interim dean since April 2020, and after a competitive national search, Dean Mills’ experience and commitment to our communities set her apart. Dean Mills is the first woman permanent dean at the McCombs School of Business. Congratulations, Lil!
