McCombs Business Outlook: Focus on the Future of Real Estate
A shifting working world, office and retail vacancy rates, and rising mortgage rates were among the top headlines of 2022. Looking ahead to 2023, businesses are making short- and long-term strategic plans to protect their interests in light of potential uncertainty.
At the second of our Business Outlook events, economic, academic, and industry experts will consider several key questions related to real estate as well as where are we in the economic cycle, what are the 2023 prospects for Texas’ economy, and how can businesses forecast industry fluctuations and gain competitive advantage?

Texas McCombs Denver Chapter Nuggets Game
Join your fellow Texas McCombs alumni at the Nuggets game on Thursday, March 30, against the New Orleans Pelicans. Tip-off is at 8 p.m., but we will set up a group reservation at 6:30 p.m. at the Breckinridge Mountain House at Ball Arena. Seating is limited, so requests will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Knowledge To Go Webinar: Speaking Up to Be Heard: Tactics for Communicating Your Ideas at Work
In this Knowledge To Go webinar, Professor Hussain will share actionable tips for how to communicate ideas for maximum impact and effectiveness. Using evidence from research and practice, the session will highlight concrete techniques for framing ideas, overcoming resistance, and negotiating for mutual gain. The takeaways will be straightforward and actionable, so you can start to implement them immediately.
Insiya Hussain is an Assistant Professor of Management at McCombs School of Business. Her research focuses on the challenges and opportunities that employees encounter when speaking up to share ideas and opinions, advocate social issues, and negotiate for personal rewards.
